Monocrystalline Diamond (MCD for short) MCD Insert are the ideal choice for achieving the best possible surface finish in non-ferrous materials. Designed for finishing operations only, The MCD Insert features a hand-ground, singular diamond, along with a balanced, heavy carbide body. The combination of the two provides unparalleled finish, capable of providing mirrored finishes in brass and aluminum, and optically clear finish in polycarbonate and acrylic.
MCD Insert designed to remove a skim coat off the top of a surface. They generally are not designed for roughing and are very effective in truing up your material or quickly providing an excellent surface finish. These larger diameter long-life, micro-grain carbide tools are available in various cutting diameters and lengths, shank diameters, and geometries for specialty applications.
